Teurastamo
Teurastamo is a former slaughterhouse by Kalasatama in Helsinki. Bustling with new urban and culinary culture, the building now houses several restaurants, a distillery, an ice cream bar, a coffee roastery and a bakery, among others. The heart of Teurastamo is its atmospheric urban yard that is open to all people in Helsinki.
Hakaniemi Market Hall
Hakaniemi Market Hall is often called Helsinki’s most authentic market hall. Renovations at the original market hall building began in 2018, and its operations were transferred temporarily to the Lasihalli building on the Hakaniemi Market Square side. With the renovations completed, Hakaniemi Market Hall was reopened in the spring of 2023.
Hietalahti Market Hall
Hietalahti Market Hall currently serves as a restaurant and café oasis that takes visitors on atmospheric culinary journeys around the world: to the Philippines, Japan, France, Italy, Portugal, the Middle East... Tasty excursions from everyday life at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Old Market Hall
The Old Market Hall of Helsinki has been serving customers since 1889 as the oldest of the city’s market halls.

Market squares
The market square is the heart of a city. A place where people meet – whether in everyday situations or to celebrate Finland’s success in hockey. It is a place where people drink Finnish coffee, shop and meet with friends and strangers alike. Helsinki has seven commercially used market squares, the busiest ones being Helsinki Market Square and Hakaniemi Market Square.
Wholesale Market
The Wholesale Market is an area between Kalasatama and Hermanni, featuring wholesale stores, the Green Wholesale Market and the Freezing Plant, among others. The Wholesale Market area features production and storage facilities of different types and sizes that are leased mostly to food industry businesses.
